// Discover Wyre Trails
Project: Engagement and Digital consultuant for the creation of Finding Fleetwood Heritage Trails (now Discover Wyre Trails)
Client: Wyre Council
Partners: Four Door Productions, TGAC, Kezi Gardom, Mark Woods
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
this great adventure & co. are working with Wyre Council as engagement and digital consultants to develop the Finding Fleetwood Heritage Trails (FFHT) project, now called Discover Wyre Trails.
Discover Wyre Trails is part of the Historic High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) strategy being funded by Historic England.
Until September 2022, we will be creating a new set of interactive and augmented reality trails, exploring a range of themes: History and Heritage, Nature and CLimate Change, Health and Wellbeing and Art, as well as a Festive Trail and a trail created with and by young people.
Haz projects use shared natural // cultural // physical heritage assets, capitalising on and developing local talent, as a foundation to connect communities, supporting health and wellbeing, as well as driving social and economic regeneration.
There are 67 HSHAZ projects across the UK, and physical-digital engagement and storytelling can have a role to play in all of them.
Working with diverse communities and a range of dedicated stakeholders and participants in Fleetwood, we’ll be combining a range of engagement, co-creation, and skills development approaches, as well as exploring accessible // flexible physical-digital storytelling technologies.
Fleetwood has a rich social and industrial heritage with local ties that reach back generations.
It’s located at the centre of a dramatic and unique landscape, and there’s a vibrant and growing arts and music scene.
There are significant regeneration plans in development.
This project is seeking to attract visitors to Fleetwood to explore further, stay longer, and spend more. At the same time, it’s goals are local and community focused, exploring new forms of creative engagement and expression, as well as democratising access to digital storytelling approaches and technologies.
We’ll be updating this page as the project progresses, so watch this space.
If you’re working on an Historic High Street or wider HAZ project and you’re thinking about physical-digital engagement and storytelling, then we’d love to hear from you and see if // how we might be able to help.
