Project: STAUNTON COUNTRY PARK Transofrmation

With Hampshire County Council, C-I, the Right To Work, Get Up and Go Havant, E-Hants Mind, John Muir and more.

Start: There are over 290 Country Parks in the UK.

OVER THE LAST FOUR YEARS, WE HAVE BEEN Working with TEAMS FROM FIVE Country Parks IN HAMPSHIRE TAKING PART IN THE COUNTRY PARK Transformation Project.

TOGETHER, we’re exploring how THESE vital green spaces can SHARE THEIR LIVING STORIES, connect with, include and support their communities in new ways.

Journey: we learned about parks as human-made spaces, GATEWAYS TO THE COUNTRYSIDE, shaping and BEING shaped by people over time.  The parks are important shared resources, and each one has a unique set of LIVING stories to share.

aT Staunton Country Park in Hampshire we’ve taken the podcast concept and played with that to create a unique DIGITAL platform bringing together park users, rangers and historians,  botanists, community interest companies, schools and education teams, mental health charities, and families across generations.

THIS PLATFORM IS FREELY ACCESSIBLE TO ALL PARK USERS AND IS DESIGNED TO HELP people EXPLORE THE PARK, TO SEE IT THROUGH NEW EYES, AS WELL AS TO SHOW THE DIFFERENT WAYS THEY COULD GET INVOLVED, SUCH AS THE COMMUNITY ORCHARD.

Destination
