Fleetwood Festive AR Trail

Fun times!

You can now download the AR Markers and play the AR Fleetwood Festive Trail at home :)

We’ve redesigned a version of the AR Markers so that you can now experience the Fleetwood Festive AR Trail at home!

Simply go to https://www.wyreartrails.co.uk/ and click the 'Download AR Markers' button. You can print them out or scan them from your computer screen using the Wyre AR Trails App.

Until now, the only place you’d find these AR MArkers was on the streets in Fleetwood!

Download the app for free and discover the original Fleetwood story, brought to life with specially commissioned illustrations and animatics, and transformed into a festive trail experience for all the family through a set of unique interactive Augmented Reality games.

Snowball cannons, hungry reindeer and sneaky stars all have a part to play, and You can also use the app to take photos of yourself and your family with the AR experience in view.

Once you complete the games (and if you live near enough) you can even come and collect your little reward // gift from Santa from the Marine Hall Theatre Box Office or the main office at Fleetwood Market.

Background:

Last November, we released the first AR trail in Fleetwood in time for Christmas - the Fleetwood Festive Trail.

This is part of the wider Discover Wyre Trails project being developed with Wyre Council as part of Historic England’s Historic High Streets Heritage Action Zone programme.

A selection of new digital storytelling trails and content is being created with and by people in Fleetwood - you can explore them for free by visiting our platform at https://www.discoverwyretrails.co.uk/en/

Visiting Fleetwood:

If you’ve never been to Fleetwood before, it’s well worth the visit.

The seafront is magnificent, especially for the sunsets where on a good day you can see Wales, the Lake District and the Isle of Man.

The market is lovely and has new artist studios above where people are busy creating beautiful things, and there’s pretty much free parking all over town, there’s a pretty little country park tucked around the back…

However, if you do get to go it’s probably best to visit in the day time as things do start to close up quite early.

Happy New Year and best wishes from everyone at this great adventure.
